Working 9 to 5, what a way to make a living!
These lines by Dolly Parton, which I confess - I discovered after listening to Robbie William's version... made me think of how nowadays there are more and more independent women working just like men and despite our fights for equal rights and opportunities we do not give up. Since I was a kid I always played the role of the lawyer, in a suit and blazer (mai senza la blaer) when we played "adults" at school. Why I always went for the business woman role I don't know, but my obsession for officewear can be a hint.
Despite my love for all the outfits that appear on the TV series I religiously follow, Suits, when I go to work I always try to combine a bit of classy office wear with casual items (basically jeans). Yup, there is always some casual style that will never leave me.
Today I "tumbled outta bed" and had nothing prepared so I went for the easy peasy dark jeans and white blouse outfit... just adding a pop of color with my blazer. The sun was shining and I honestly love it when I take a small break from the office and walk around this building. I told my friend Elena about this place and thought she would love it, since she loves discovering heritage buildings and arts around the city. She instantly fell in love with it and its gardens!
I love hats but truth is when the time comes I never wear them. I like to see them on other people, maybe wear them for a while... But today there was no excuse since they really match these stilettos. The suede shoes have a pointed heel and are easy to wear around the office, but we know cobbled streets are not on good terms with them... I guess they will have to sleep under my desk.
The big floppy hat from American Apparel
has its days counted. It is clearly a fall/winter jacket but these days are just something in between summer and winter, so you never know what to do with your outfit before leaving the house: will it rain? will it be cold/warm? etc. etc. etc.
These jeans are the basics we all need
, since you can wear them anywhere and mix with anything. I was wearing them with white converse and almost the same outfit, and decided to give them a smart look mixing them with a blaze and blouse. Did it work?
Now, the open blazer and stripped blouse
are both from Zaful
, and I believe they are still available -for those of you who asked me on Instagram. These are clearly spring/summer items so hurry up before they get sold out!
Be sure to use my discount code ZAKIRA if shopping in Zaful. :)
