This collection brings mostly suede looks, bodycon items and waist-cinched with high boots that give a form-fitting woman line with exaggerated hips and corset bodices. Everything soft but tiny and stretching this time. The dresses are all about texture and exaggeration with tassels adorning a whole dress and ruffle and lace pants –worn by Kloss, reminding us of the motto “more is more”. Baby blue and soft pink where are the focus of this collection, quite baroque-like. Of course tassels are present but this time in a simpler and discrete way.
Soothed by a pretty pastel range of colours and soft textures like angora or suede, Balmain is still loyal to the pre-fall collection tassels but this time there are new elements such as see-through tights and sheer lace pants. Also, we saw jabot blouses and peplum-padded jackets, emphasizing tiny waists and curvy hips.
In short, pale pink and blue dominated the show and corseted waists showing round silhouettes had a major role too.
The lines and materials of this collection are innocent and lady-like but with a sexy attitude. With an empowering sense in these clothes, Balmain brings a collection that gives power and calm at the same time. Dreamy glam with young designs and gorgeous combinations are the essence of the winter Balmain collection, which brings some peace to the cold December-January atmosphere.
Quite different from my beloved Valentino and Dolce&Gabbana, these designs bring some peace&calm to the bold and wild Italian designers.
